Does Avengers: Endgame Have a Post-Credits Scene?
Marvel movies have trained fans to stay until the very end. In fact, that’s how you can tell who the seasoned MCU moviegoers are; those who aren’t will often get up to leave as soon as the credits begin to roll. Those who know what’s up stick around to watch the post-credits scene.
Avengers: Endgame is the twenty-second film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And each of the previous twenty-one movies has had either a mid- or a post-credits scene. Sometimes both. Beginning with the first Iron Man movie, Kevin Feige had the idea of including a post-credit scene partially because he wanted audiences to stick around and acknowledge the people who worked on the film.
The post-credit scenes also served to tease fans as to what was coming next. You may recall that in that first post-credits scene, Tony Stark enters his mansion only to be greeted by Nick Fury, who informs him that Iron Man isn’t the only superhero in the world. He then brings up the Avengers Initiative which lets the world know that at some point in the future, we could expect an Avengers movie.
Not only does the post-credits scene excite fans, sometimes it simply trolls them. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, fans who stayed until the end were met by a Captain America public service announcement on the importance of patience. He then breaks the fourth wall informing the audience that they waited around for nothing.

With Avengers: Endgame, fans will no doubt stick around until the end in hopes of some glimpse of what Marvel’s future holds. There’s really no point. What is there to tease? While we do get some pretty cool graphics during the credits, and there is the sound of a blacksmith’s hammer at work when the Marvel logo appears, there is no post-credits scene so you’re free to go once the main cast stuff is out the way. But seeing as how this film is a celebration of more than ten years and twenty-two films’ worth of effort, it might be nice to take a few extra minutes and celebrate everyone who made Avengers: Endgame possible.
