Gal Gadot Wants Brett Ratner Gone from Wonder Woman 2

Wonder Woman is clearly one of 2017’s biggest box office success stories. In addition to receiving rave reviews from both audiences and critics, it became the highest-grossing live-action movie directed by a woman, the highest-grossing superhero origin film, the highest-grossing summer blockbuster, and it grossed more than $800 million worldwide. Given its success, it’s only natural that a sequel was quickly announced and Gal Gadot and director, Patty Jenkins have signed on to the project. But there’s a catch…

Producer Brett Ratner’s RatPac-Dune Entertainment had a lucrative co-financing deal with Warner Bros. that helped make Wonder Woman a reality; however, in the wake of multiple sexual misconduct and harassment allegations against Ratner, Gadot has reportedly said that she will not return to the franchise if he will continue to profit from it.

Over the past few weeks, allegations against Ratner (and the rest of Hollywood) have started to pile up. With claims coming from stars including Olivia Munn and Ellen Page, who alleged via a Facebook post that he had outed her to her X-Men: The Last Stand co-stars when she was 18 years old. Ratner, through his attorney, has denied these allegations.

Wonder Woman 2 is currently scheduled for release in December 2019. With the deal between Ratner’s RatPac-Dune Entertainment and Warner Bros. slated to end in 2018, it remains to be seen how this will all shake out. But something tells me that given the way that audiences responded to Gadot in the role of Diana Prince, and considering her immense popularity with movie goers, Ratner probably won’t be involved in the film’s production. But that’s just my thinking; what do you think? Let us know in the comments!
