Happy Birthday, Steve Ditko!

On this day in 1927, comic book legend Steve Ditko was born, and the world became a better place.

Most famously known for co-creating Spider-Man and Doctor Strange for Marvel Comics in the 1960’s, and characters such as Blue Beetle and the Question for Charlton Comics. He’s also known for simply walking away from his creations and disappearing from the public eye.

In 2007, the BBC produced a documentary titled In Search of Steve Ditko in which Jonathan Ross charts Ditko’s  legendary career in his search for the reclusive artist as he hopes to score an exclusive interview. If you aren’t familiar with Ditko’s work, I highly recommend checking this out. (And to make it easier, just click the play button above!)

Happy birthday, Mr. Ditko! Your work has influenced generations of comic book fans and for that we are grateful.
