Kingdom Hearts III DLC Confirmed

Kingdom Hearts III game director, Tetsuya Nomura, has confirmed that DLC, both free and paid are currently in the works.

This was revealed in a recent interview that he gave in the Japanese publication Dengeki Online (via Google Translate). Nomura revealed in the interview that the free DLC would probably come to the game as incremental updates as they are completed. He also indicated that paid DLC would be much larger and possibly grouped together. It is possible that it will be released before the end of 2019. One of the free updates may include a Critical Mode difficulty, offering a challenge to players who completed the game’s Proud mode difficulty.

The game’s paid DLC would most likely expand the story. New content could potentially fill in details that weren’t fully explained in the main storyline.

At this time there has been no specific DLC for Kingdom Hearts III officially announced by Square Enix; however, this news is not surprising. It actually makes sense given that the game was a massive success for the company. Over 5 million copies were shipped in its first week causing it to become January’s best-selling game.
