Spark for Android Is Here

Google has been teasing us with the imminent death of Inbox, and steering users towards Gmail for months. As such, people have been looking for an alternative that offers some of the features that Gmail still lacks. If you’re like me, and the Android version of Gmail just isn’t acceptable for you, then you might want to look at Spark for Android which went live this morning. Up until now, Spark was exclusive to Apple devices: iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. It’s good to see the company make the jump to Android.

I was able to try out the beta version of Spark for Android and I’m happy to say that in the few days I’ve used the app, it’s been a good experience. The app is smooth and fast. The gestures work well and are intuitive. And if you like to customize your apps, Spark offers plenty of choices: users can tweak what they see when viewing an email and they can change their notification options. It also offers a quick access widget with shortcuts to different items such as specific folders or emails.

I’m still trying to work my way through all of the features, but I think it’s earned a chance to be my main email app for a while. If you’re looking for a Google Inbox replacement, you might want to give it a try. If you do, let us know how you like it.
