Stolendroids Present Arlen Schumer

Stolendroids Podcast

The Silver Age of comics (circa 1956-1970) was a glorious time. It was a time where some of the greatest and most influential comic book artists were doing their greatest and most influential work. With legends like Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko teaming up with Stan Lee to create iconic characters, including Spider-Man and The Fantastic Four at Marvel, and Neal Adams completely revolutionizing the way we see our superheroes over at DC, there was no shortage of amazing artwork in comic books.

Comic book historian, author, and lecturer, Arlen Schumer, has taken it upon himself to teach others about just how influential and important the Silver Age actually was to comic book storytelling. To help accomplish this, he wrote the award-winning book, The Silver Age of Comic Book Art, and has given numerous lectures all across the country on the subject. He was also kind enough to give us some time to chat.

If you are a fan of comic books, history, or just want to hear a really good conversation, then this episode is not to be missed!

You can follow Arlen at his website. He is also on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, and YouTube. And while you’re at it, go buy his book. You’ll be glad you did.
