The Decade of the Geek

Stolendroids Podcast Episode 396

Stolendroids is rolling into 2020 like Iron Man on skates.

It’s 2020 and another decade has come and gone. Okay, technically the new decade begins next year, but roll with us on this one. Anyway, to kick off the new decade, we decided to make a few changes while reflecting on the previous 10 years.

We’re also proud to announce a new format for Stolendroids Podcast and introduce our newest members! We’re moving our podcast into a discussion forum with a focus on our geek community in Utah. The show will be continued by Jake Dietz (host of Movies That Make Us) as our moderator, with Collin Farmer, Kate Child, and Zach Cipriano as our panelists.

While we’re excited about these new changes, you’ll also notice that Zohner wasn’t on the list of panelists. Now don’t worry. Even though Zohner isn’t on the Stolendroids Podcast, he will be part of a new show that’s currently in development and will take place in Texas.

I would like to personally thank Zohner for his dedication to the Stolendroids Podcast and for everything we’ve been able to achieve this last decade. Zohner helped to create a place for all geeks everywhere, provided something for others to look forward to, and helped provide a positive impact within our community. It won’t be the same without you!

Now, let’s dive into our show and introduce our new panelists which include our guest, Jeremiah Zohner.

In this episode, we discuss everything from Pokémon to the MCU and Doctor Who. And don’t think that we forgot about Star Wars, or how toxic fandom has emerged over the past few years.

Also, we apologize for Zohner. You know how he is…

Collin Farmer

Managing Partner - If you look up the word “geek” in the dictionary, you won’t find a picture of Collin. The definition though is “an enthusiast or expert especially in a technological field or activity” which couldn’t describe him any more perfectly. Whether it’s music, movies, technology, or any other number of interests, Collin is a geek to the core. When he’s not spending time with his beautiful wife or son, Collin can often be found improving companies and their IT infrastructure at his day job. If he’s not there, find a computer or TV because you’re going to find him podcasting, researching new technology, playing video games, or watching either endless amounts of Chuck reruns or Star Wars.
